How Move Up Internet Transformed Connectivity at Sippy Downs

When we first looked at the Sippy Downs buildings, it was clear that fast, reliable internet wasn’t just a nice-to-have, it was something residents genuinely needed and weren’t getting. The buildings themselves were modern and well-built. The missing piece was the connectivity infrastructure to match. That’s where Move Up Internet came in.
Starting With the Right Questions
Every building partnership we take on starts the same way: we listen before we act. For Sippy Downs, that meant sitting down with the building manager early in the process to understand what residents were experiencing, what the building needed, and what a successful outcome would actually look like. From there, we conducted detailed site surveys assessing both the internal infrastructure and the surrounding network environment, so we could design a solution that was right for this building, not just a generic rollout.
Working Hand-in-Hand With the Building Manager
One of the things that made Sippy Downs work so well was the strength of the relationship with the building manager from day one. Rather than arriving with a plan already locked in, we worked collaboratively to understand the building’s priorities and kept them involved at every stage. That partnership approach meant fewer surprises, smoother logistics, and a rollout that genuinely served the residents, not just the technical brief. It also meant the building manager was equipped to communicate the changes to residents clearly and confidently. When you have the building manager and body corporate on the same page, everything moves faster and more smoothly. That’s something we look for in every building we work with.
Installing Infrastructure Built for the Building
With a clear picture of what was needed, we installed our active fibre network throughout the Sippy Downs buildings designed specifically for the site and built to deliver a level of connectivity that residents hadn’t had access to before. We invested in the building, running cabling and equipment that now forms a proper, managed network, one we own, monitor, and support locally.
A Launch That Brought the Community Together
Before we went live, we ran a pre-registration campaign in partnership with the building manager, putting the word out that Move Up Internet was coming. The response was beyond what we expected, with over 300 units registering interest before installation was even complete. Together with the campaign, Move Up organised an activation day and brought in a coffee van and offered free barista coffee to all residents. What started as a chance to introduce ourselves turned into something far more meaningful. Existing Move Up customers started chatting with neighbours who hadn’t heard of us yet, sharing their own experiences and answering questions on the spot. It was a genuine community moment and a reminder that the best way to build trust is to show up in person.
What Sippy Downs Shows Is Possible
The Sippy Downs project is a strong example of what happens when an internet provider and a building work together properly. By taking the time to understand the building, partnering closely with management, and investing in purpose-built infrastructure, Move Up Internet was able to deliver something residents can genuinely rely on. For strata managers and body corporates across Southeast Queensland, it’s proof that better internet is achievable without disruption, without cost to the building, and without compromise.
